Tamara became a registered and licensed dietitian and founded LaCarte Wellness in 2007. Over her career she has worked with thousands of clients, providing practical and effective nutrition counseling that is practical and effective.
Tamara transitioned her practice in 2021 to focus on integrative and functional women's health after experiencing and managing her own personal health issues related to infertility, fibroids, and other hormone-related conditions. Her goal with LaCarte Wellness is to fill a need for women who are seeking culturally sensitive, evidence-based and practical nutrition coaching to help them manage conditions such as PCOS, infertility, fibroids, diabetes and other hormone-related conditions. Tamara uses an integrative and functional approach to helping her clients determine the root cause of their symptoms, and helps her clients create lifestyle changes that are realistic and effective to improve their health.
Tamara holds a Bachelor of Health Science degree with a concentration in Nutrition from the University of North Florida; a Master of Science in Health and Nutrition from GSU; and a graduate certificate of Health Informatics from Duke University. Tamara is also a graduate of the inaugural Functional Nutrition Practitioners Institute Program. Tamara is also the co-founder of Diversify Dietetics, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that recruits and trains students of color who are interested in becoming registered dietitians.
