How does pelvic health physical therapy work?

We use a 4-phase process to provide you with the care you require to meet your personalized goals.

  1. Discovery Phase
In this initial phase, we conduct a thorough assessment of your condition and establish a baseline for treatment.

  2. Reduce the Problem Phase

The focus of this phase is to reduce symptoms and improve comfort, setting the stage for further improvement.

  3. Increase Your Function Phase
The emphasis of this phase is to restore optimal functioning and help you to engage in your activities more effectively with less pain and discomfort.

  4. Maintain Results Phase

The final phase is about ensuring long-term success and preventing relapse. We work together so you stay empowered to sustain your improvements and apply what you’ve learned in your everyday life.

Meet the Physical Therapist:

Hi, I’m Dr. Kari Roberts, PT, DPT, a physical therapist who specializes in pelvic health dysfunction for women, and I’ve been in your shoes.

I suffered with chronic pelvic pain for over 5 years that impacted my personal, private and professional life. I understand the frustration of generic answers and standardized care that leaves you feeling hopeless and more alone than when you started. I was initially interested in the pelvic health field as I was dealing with my own pelvic health dysfunction.  Now I’m excited to help others stop suffering in silence and gain the tools they need so they can also overcome their pelvic health dysfunction. I opened Marrón Pelvic Health to give you hope and find answers tailored for you.

I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from University at Buffalo in 2004 and have over 20 years of experience in the orthopedics and geriatrics fields. I a Certified Pelvic Health Specialist through Evidence in Motion.

When I’m not working as a physical therapist I enjoy watching sports with my husband, walking in the park with my 2 dogs, listening to podcasts, sampling tasty bourbons, crocheting and catching up on reality TV.

FAQs:

All visits are 55 minutes with 1:1 care between you and your pelvic health specialist. You will have a safe and confidential space to share your concerns and receive the specialized treatment you need. At the initial visit, we will review your intake forms, conduct a head-to-toe assessment and create your personalized plan.

What are the visits like?

Can I build better pelvic strength besides Kegels?

Most definitely! It is unfortunate that the greater masses believe doing Kegel's fixes all things related to the pelvic floor. The pelvic floor is just one muscle group needed to support your digestive system, reproductive system, and abdomen. We will do a full body assessment and create a personalized plan to help you reach your goals.

Do I need a referral to start my treatment?

No referral is needed for your initial assessment and to start your care. If you have a physician you are working with, we will ask for that contact information so we can close the communication loop regarding your care.

How long is each session?

Each session is 55 minutes with 1:1 care.

How long does it take to heal?

Each person’s goals are different and each body responds differently. We can’t say how long it will take to heel, but we believe if you follow the plan, you should see some favorable results in about 2 weeks.

If you are ready to get relief from your pelvic issues Marrón Pelvic Health is here to help you.

You can finally have a personalized treatment plan, tailored to your specific needs and lifestyle, that helped you overcome your pelvic concerns.

It’s time to get you the pelvic relief you deserve.
