3 Types of Incontinence

It's not a secret that many women have issues when it comes to emptying their bladder. The strange thing is when people hear the word: INCONTINENCE, many think of having a full-blown accident. Such as when someone must wear water-proof panties, like Depends.

The truth is incontinence is whenever urine escapes your bladder when you don't intend it to. So, a little leakage with coughing, working out, or even a couple of dribbles as you are pulling your pants down to sit on the commode is still incontinence.

There are actually 3 types of incontinence.

  • Stress Incontinence

  • Urge Incontinence

  • Mixed Incontinence

STRESS INCONTINENCE

This is when you leak urine while doing something active. The activities can very from person to person and from episode to episode. Some examples are: laughing, sneezing, jumping, lifting, exercising or even coughing.

URGE INCONTINENCE

This is when you leak urine when you don't get to the toilet soon enough. Think "I gotta go RIGHT now!" Or the thought of urinating, even hearing running water, makes you have some leakage.

MIXED INCONTINENCE

This is when someone has both urge and stress incontinence.

But these only treat the symptoms.
